Using email

CallPlus offers a FREE Webmail service so that you can access your emails from any internet connection anywhere in the world.

CallPlus Email Spam Filtering

CallPlus Spam filtering is FREE to all CallPlus customers using CallPlus internet and data solutions. Our Spam Filtering service provides message tagging to identify potential Spam in your mailbox. This means you don't have to waste time opening unwanted mail, you can simply choose to delete or forward these messages to a Spam folder.

Important Points

  • Spam filtering will apply rules to all emails sent to your CallPlus mailbox 
  • The software uses a set of rules based on keywords and phrases that commonly appear in unsolicited mail
  • Spam filtering checks the source of the email against a regularly updated Spam blacklist
  • If potential Spam is identified it arrives in your mailbox with a SPAM rating in the Subject line

CallPlus Email Anti-Virus Protection

CallPlus Email Virus Protection helps safeguard your computer from emails infected by viruses by filtering all email attachments sent to your mailbox.

Email Virus Protection is FREE to all CallPlus customers using CallPlus internet and data solutions.

If a virus is detected in the email it is destroyed and not delivered to your mailbox. You will receive the following message if a virus has been detected and removed from an email:

Subject: [VIRUS] 'xxxx' blocked in message to you
Our anti-virus service detected and blocked a message containing the following virus
   ‘xxxxx'

Important Points

  • Protection is provided against:
    • Worms
    • Viruses
    • Trojans
    • Malicious code
    • Suspicious attachments

Static IP Addresses

Static IP addresses are available on all our business broadband plans. A Static IP address provides a unique internet address for your business and is mainly used with the following:

  • Mail server
  • Web hosting
  • Remote access
  • VPN

    CallPlus manages the assignment of Static IP addresses on a case-by-case basis

    Monthly Rental: $20.00 per Static IP

    A Static IP on Ultra Plus Broadband / Pro Broadband plans are FREE.
    Please note: a valid reason for the Static IP is necessary. 


Webmail

WebMail is a free, versatile web-based email system which enables customers to check their CallPlus inbox remotely.

CallPlus Webmail service allows you to read, manage and create messages from any computer that has a web browser and access to the Internet, from anywhere in New Zealand and around the world.

Your emailed messages are retained in a central location and you can access them from different computers at different locations. This gives you the freedom to check and respond to email anywhere and anytime.

CallPlus Webmail is free as part of our Business Internet service.

Important Points

  • Any PC connected to the internet can be used from anywhere in the world
  • 5MB storage per mailbox
  • Options to compose mails, reply to mails and attach files
  • Address book functionality with option to create groups
  • Folders available
  • Option to add personalised signature
  • Messages opened during a Webmail session are downloaded to the Webmail server as default
  • Customers can choose to leave a message on CallPlus service for downloading with a client at a later date
